The Kaneshie District Court in Accra has remanded six (6) more soldiers of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for their involvement in the alleged coup plot.
The six, WO2 Esther Duffour, Corporal Seidu Abubarkar, Lance Corporal Ali Solomon, Lance Corporal Sylvester Akakpewo, Godwin Nil Ankrah and Lance Corporal Baba Abrahim were remanded by the court after they appeared before it on Monday, 30th September, 2019.
According to Angel News’ Maame Afia Duker, the six are allegedly part of the cartel of Dr. Mac Palm, the Managing Director of Citadel Hospital.
The court presided over by Rosemond Duodua Agyiri charged them with possession of explosives, arms and ammunition without lawful authority.
The arrest of the six brings to eleven (11), the total number of persons charged and remanded for plotting to destabilise the country.
Prosecution led by Sylvester Asare told the court they had just been in the grips of the Police and would want them remanded into Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) custody for proper investigations to be done.
The court was told that the accused persons had in their possession, 22 explosives, 6 pistols, 5 ammunition and 3 hand grenades.
Their pleas were not taken. The case has been adjourned to 9th October, 2019.
