The battle for the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat gets heated by the day as the two contestants always seek for new means of winning the hearts and minds of voters, especially students.
Actions being taken by these politicians clearly suggest that no politician in the world understands the statement ‘every single vote matter’ better than Lydia Seyram Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and John Dumelo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The two in an attempt to woo the hearts and minds of the students of the University of Ghana, a location considered as the ‘Florida’ of the constituency have taken their campaign to a new level.
The woman who replaced Late Emmanuel Kyeremanten Agyarko and the screen god, Dumelo are asking female students attending the institution’s matriculation scheduled to take place on Saturday, 28th September, 2019 not to worry about putting on Make Up.
This is because they will provide Make Up artistes who will help beautify their faces for free.
After observing the ‘décor’ on their faces, they will be afforded a photoshoot opportunity for free as well.
Make Up and photoshoot are not the only freebies being provided by the Lawmaker, she is also providing free drinks for all freshers in the University as well.
Her main contender and challenger, Actor John Dumelo is also providing free pop corn to the freshers.
He is also promising the students that they will have the opportunity to take pictures with their favourite celebrities.
‘No free Lunch in Legon’
Statistics have proven that anyone seeking to win the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat must win more votes on the University of Ghana campus.
Hence the deliberate attempt to recruit as many members as possible into the students wing of the two political parties – Tertiary Institutions Network of the NDC (TEIN) and Tertiary Education Confederacy Network (TESCON) of the NPP.
