Let Rule of Law work in prosecuting coup plotters – Akufo-Addo

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked that the security agencies follow due process in prosecuting the people standing trial for alleging plotting to destabilize the country.

Three persons, including a medical doctor have been arrested for plotting to stage a coup.

Dr Mac-Palm and two others, Mr. Ezor Kafui (a local weapon manufacturer) and Mr. Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu (aka BB or ADC) were arrested last weekend for alleging plotting to destabilise the country.

They have since been sent to court, charged and remanded into BNI custody.

Questions have been raised on the charges that were preferred against these persons at the court of law.

Reacting to this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Thursday as monitored by Angelfmonlinegh.com said the President after being briefed of the plot to destabilize the country only asked that the state agencies follow the Rule of Law in dealing with the suspected coup plotters.

“Security agencies were very professional in gathering the details and after the President had been briefed, he said if this is what you have, go ahead but let the Rule of Law work…,” Oppong Nkrumah said.
