Murder of Tadi girls: Security very poor in Ghana now – Ken Agyapong

Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has said that the security situation in the country is now nothing to write home about.

According to him, the murder of the four kidnapped Takoradi girls lay credence to his assertion.

Speaking on Net 2 as monitored by, the outspoken Legislator said it is time the security bosses in the country sit up.

“The murder of the Takoradi kidnapped girls show that our security is very poor in this country, even some of the people that they arrested but set free later helped in murdering the girls…,” he said.

Ken Agyapong also backed calls for the dismissal of the Boss of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah.

He made the comments while commenting on the murder of the four kidnapped girls that were murdered.

The CID boss, after an announcement by the Acting Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh, on Monday, confirming the death of the girls after DNA tests, has come under severe criticisms as pressure mounts on her to resign and apologize over the way and manner in which the case was handled.

Many particularly blame her for giving ‘false hope’ to the families of the then kidnapped girls.
