Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has backed calls for the dismissal of the Boss of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah.
The outspoken Legislator who was commenting on the murder of the four kidnapped girls who were murdered in Takoradi said the Boss of the CID deserves to be shown the exit over her comments on the saga.
The CID boss, after an announcement by the Acting Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh, on Monday, confirming the death of the girls after DNA tests, has come under severe criticisms as pressure mounts on her to resign and apologize over the way and manner in which the case was handled.
Many particularly blame her for giving ‘false hope’ to the families of the then kidnapped girls.
Commenting on this on ‘The Seat’ show on Net 2 TV as monitored by Angelfmonlinegh.com, Ken Agyapong said the President should feel free to dismiss her from office.
“If a whole CID Boss can come and claim that the missing girls have been found and later claim it was just meant to calm the nerves of the parents, you think we shouldn’t comment? I mean please, if he [the President] wants to sack her, he should feel free to sack her…,” he said.
According to him, the CID Boss is a disgrace to the profession alleging that she backed Anas when he (Ken Agyapong) accused the investigative journalist of accepting bribes.
“They should sack Tiwaa, yes, she should be sacked whether they are sabotaging her or not, she should be sacked…,” he said.
Ken Agyapong claimed that Maame Yaa Tiwaa decided to disgrace him when he (Ken Agyapong) accused Anas of being unfit to accuse former GFA Boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi of being corrupt.
“Why I am saying this is that Tiwaa decided to sacrifice me for Anas, God don punish her, I don’t know what Anas has about her…we will continue to back calls for her to be sacked…,” he charged further.
Ken Agyapong continued that Tiwaa will continuously be ‘disgraced for backing Anas over me despite knowing the truth but decided to keep mute.’
