Hundreds of anti-government demonstrators thronged the streets of the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi to demonstrate against hardship in the country in recent times on Thursday.
The demonstrators marched through some principal streets in the cosmopolitan city. They commenced their demonstration at the Kumasi Jubilee Park and marched through Alabar, Dr Mensah, Kejetia, Adum, Asafo Marfo, Labour Roundabout and ended at the Jubilee Park again.
The demonstrators did not present petition to any political leaders.
The demonstrators carried placards which communicated the forms of hardships they are going through under the Akufo-Addo administration.
‘Why is Kejetia still closed? Would it be closed if it were Kyebi?’, ‘Free SHS is not free’, ‘Fraudulent and Azaa school placement’, ‘Open John Mahama Kejetia Market Now’ and ‘Mr President, you are corrupt’ were among the inscriptions on some of the placards.
The demonstration was led by Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
